One of Amazon's busiest days for orders being placed is Christmas Day believe it or not.

People spending their vouchers that's why.

Yes, fully aware of that. It's still a busy day for online shopping across the board.

You could ask the same question about about all teleshopping in the middle of the night. It’s not something most people do. Besides it makes no difference to Challenge/Sky, if they’ve got paying customers they’ll sell the slot. I imagine they don’t sell the slots individually either.

The same fools who spend all night in the freezing weather in sleeping bags outside shops eagerly awaiting the Sales and then fight their way just to get £3 knocked off a new pair of shoes.

The Teleshopping Hour is just cheap TV.
Cheap in every way - from values to budget.

Not quite:
6 - 7am - Teleshopping
7am - 1pm - The Chase
2 - 6pm - Bullseye
7 - 11pm - The Chase: Celebrity Specials
11pm - 6am - The Chase

They need to re-brand it "The Chase Channel"

Can't do that, there's already one.

Though it does further the question of how long it'll be before viewers inevitably just stop watching Challenge TV for those repeats.

Or ITV stop selling Sky the rights to air it.

It does.
I think it was around Christmas 2000 or even 2001 - Challenge had a few weeks of classic gameshows back to back.

There was a lot of variation - not the usual programmes either - Sale of the Century, Golden Shot, New Faces, Winner Takes All, even episodes of Crackerjack & Blankety Blank were thrown in too. It was quite varied - and worth the watch too.

Episodes of Golden Shot and New Faces are restricted - as only a few episodes of these programmes exist.
Though it was good to see a mixture of old school Gameshows.

If it makes ITV enough money, I can't see it happening. Any concerns they might have about the Chase brand being oversaturated simply won't exist if they haven't existed before. ITV are no stranger to relying on a repeat during a late afternoon/early evening if schedules are up in the air.

Without being too sinister, the only route I can see Challenge dropping The Chase is if Bradley Walsh is put through some sort of career-ending scandal that sullies the brand. And I don't really hate The Chase or the state of Challenge enough to hope that happens... And even then, depending on your opinion of matters, Challenge still repeat Strike It Lucky.

Scrapheap Challenge's final airing is on 24th December at 4am. Leads me to wonder what Challenge has got planned for 2023

It’s nice to see them try something new with Scrapheap Challenge- feel that fits the channel’s vibe more than Dickinson’s Real Deal.
