Presumably LR still performs well in the north during the late show, so they offered the gig to Becky Want. From what I've heard of her Radio Manchester show this afternoon on Sounds, she's inoffensive and has the delivery of a daytime tv presenter.

Jo Good is a decent presenter of Radio London's weekday late show, so should fit in well on late weekends.

However it appears if you're of a certain vintage, male and southern who simply goes in, does the gig and keep the elderly entertained for decades, then you're not worth keeping on.

Becky's been at Radio Manchester for most of her career - stretching back to the GMR days.

In the past few years alone, she's covered pretty much every daytime shift going (Breakfast included - and for one reason or another, they've kept switching presenters numerous times)

Definitely remember her popping up doing what's on-type features on Granada Tonight in the 90s - and much later on Channel M.

She did quite a bit on Granada Breeze too when that was a thing, and I have a feeling she may have been a presenter on Shop!

Devon and Cornwall will share afternoon's from August 7th

Radio Devon fell off the air just before 5pm and we Had David White's Radio Cornwall show for about 15 mins, so I guess they are messing about with it or testing the waters for the change next week, also the afternoon Quizz (Transmission Impossible) got dropped, so from next week it will be Radio Cornwall from 2pm with the BBC Radio Devon Jingle thrown in.

Radio Humberside's version of BBC Introducing has been axed, it's to be replaced by Radio York's version.

Not just Radio Humberside's of course, all the Introducings will be shared. Apart from sport there'll be no local content at weekends

Most of them will be shared, but seven of the existing shows (London, Manchester, Merseyside, Kent, Sussex/Surrey, Solent and Channel Islands) have been saved and aren't being merged into larger regions.
