Yes it is. And that's the point I was trying to make. At the moment they are catch up shows that you have to go to the local station schedule to listen back. I would suggest creating a new music category on BBC Sounds with all the new specialist music from Radio 1 and 6 music as well as local introducing.

It is a brand which can exist at local, regional and national level but for any version to work the legwork needs to be done at local level.
I think local radio can get away with combined or national shows if listeners feel they add value to their experience - the trouble is the way the BBC have approached it has stripped so much value out of the stations.
They do have an impact and are important in my view. The biggest problem is BBC Music Introducing is more likely to be listen to my younger people but many younger people don't know about the shows. I feel like you would say 'does anyone care?' because not many listen but, I think people would listen if they knew about the shows which is why the need to be better supported and promoted and reformatted to 60 mins.
I think the BBC has this stupid mind set of it's got to be local or regional but that's where they fail. The BBC has to many local stations but not enough regional areas. They need something in between. Then you can have specialist local shows for intro and sport.
