I agree. Without wanting to get into a debate about "cancel culture", it's quite notable that someone's reputation can be almost instantly brought crashing down these days within hours, irrespective of the broader picture - and that isn't always helped by a navel-gazing BBC. It would be a shame for Martine to resign / lose her job over this, but sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the outcome this week.
