Over in Hong Kong, Good Morning Hong Kong, TVB's morning news programme, has a new opening alongside the news bulletin sections (sorry for the potato recording: this is the best one I could find so far):

The generic news opens on their News Channel (FTA Ch.83) also changed, now going for 3D blocks instead of the globe:

(The 1900 Newshour as for example; same opening across news bulletins at 0900/lunchtime/late night, but with different Chinese branding)

I guess the new GMHK intro fits with the backdrop (which has been that way for years!) but I have to say it is a bit of a downgrade.

I do like the more dramatically edited one from when the program became the newsy format it is today from 1994.

The 2006 was nice with scenes of HK without any (odd) graphics choices.

Whilst the 2010 one's flat design is better than the odd 3D they've gone with ever since.

I do find it funny how over the years (especially visible in the 2006 video), you can see how they've slowly shifted right in the studio from the skyline backdrop to the plant one (not too sure what it's supposed to be to be honest!).

Worth noting that the main evening set is located just the to left (well sort of opposite) to the GMHK set in the same studio with one of the flash sets in one of the other corners.
