And quite clearly R Kelly's episodes aren't being "banned", they're just editing him out.

That's how it should be. If an act has been disgraced, edit them out - the rest of the episode should be fine. Episodes only need banning if the presenter was disgraced, for example Jimmy Savile.

There does seem to be quite a few people who seem to obsess over authoritatively telling us which episodes are going to be "banned", usually with little to back it up, then get suprised when they end up being shown.

Can't they just edit out the performance even then? Or did they play out the show with the number 1, which would necessitate remaking the credits?
