International Presentation

You might want to know how the plenty of "radio TV channels" work in Italy; AKA the only way music channels are able to survive these days in Italy lol

I've posted this on Animesuperheroforum (ex-Toonzone)

Quote:The back-then "British" feeds of MTV Rocks and MTV Dance in Italy, were probably some of the reasons the channel never gained an audience here, add to that the fact the Italian music market is particularly strong, and an international music offer is Ok only if accompanied by some local hits.

For this same reasons, even MTV Live HD in Italy didn't last long.

We only now have MTV Music and the ruins of VH1 (FTA), which will probably shut down soon anyway.

MTV Music is even poorer than VH1, being a paying channel...

Now music channels barely are music channels in a classic sense in Italy, but radio music channels (an Italian exclusive); a music channel run by a company that also owns a radio station simulcasting what's on the radio station; therefore showing videos and showing live studios of radio presenters etc.

We also see some adjustments and changes: since radio stations show some adverts not allowed on TV (contractually), some breaks have fillers in-between.
Since some songs have no music video, from time to time, different graphics are used generated by the channel, or the lyric video version of newer songs, such as this one (before the real video version of the song was published):

Examples are: R101 TV, RTL 102.5 TV, Virgin Radio TV etc.

In Chile, Canal 13 refreshed their look back in March, with bright blues and oranges:

Meanwhile, rival channel La Red had a new look last year, with a tribute to the previous looks in the DOG beforehand:

Remember when I said in the former TVliveforum that VTV6 would be closing soon? Well, it's taking place... in a few days.

The (resurrected) VTV Cần Thơ, celebrating Southwestern Vietnamese culture and lifestyle, with Southwest-centric information, is soft-launching on October 10. Four bulletins under Southwest Today brand would be on air everyday, and it would be broadcast on the former channel space of VTV6.

As mentioned in the International News thread, TaiwanPlus, Taiwan's international-facing streaming platform, went OTA on the island a few days ago. This is the opening ceremony, joined by President Tsai:

And this is the inaugural programme junction:

The service had a turbulent start: Originally to be operated by public broadcaster PTS, only to be withdrawn under the opague decision-making process and worries of being a Taiwanese equivalent of CGTN.

It was ultimately handled by CNA in 2021, whose operation team was transferred to PTS after their contract was due this June. Its effects were also more mediocre than expected. See this report on the initial controversies.

Hoy TV, Hong Kong, 18/10/2022. A few months ago, I covered the 2018 FTA Ch.77's rebrand from Fantastic TV to HK Open TV back in the purple place:

Now, 5 years since their first broadcast, the channel had a new name: Hoy TV. It was based on the Cantonese pronunciation of the term 'open', but not exactly in jyutping spelling. This is their launch promo:

The full CGI ident:

Programme change slide, programme junction, and a sting ident featuring possibly the contestents from the talent show (at 3:29). There're also variants on their entertainment, travelling and food programme lineup:

It's happened. RTL Klub is now just simply RTL after joining the United rebrand rollout.

It happened during tonight's X-Factor, with the presenter theatrically pointing to the corner of the screen when the DOG changed, followed by the first ad break with the new idents. It's basically the RTL United presentation seen on RTL Germany, fine-tuned to the needs of the Hungarian market. Probably little more dynamic and more well-executed. Here's the whole thing:

www.youtube.com

It was only one stage in the rebranding process of RTL Magyarország: RTL's news website rtl.hu already got a facelift in September, and soon three of their themed channels (RTLII, RTL+ and RTL Gold) will be relaunched too with new programming.

RTL+ brand will be reused as the name of the company's new subscription-based streaming service, an addition to their current VoD line-up, with self produced exclusive content and "RTL Original" productions from Germany and The Netherlands. They say that the amount of the investment is on pair with launching a new commercial channel.

Currently RTL is the most-watched channel in Hungary in prime-time hours with strong competition from TV2. Their newscast and current affairs shows are among the last independent, government-critical linear news programmes reaching a wide audience.

As the Indian Diwali celebrations begin, Sony's TV networks in India have dropped the Helvetica tricolour S logo (designed by Steff Geisbuhler at Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv in 1995 and adopted by other Sony networks worldwide) and switched to the 2019 logo design style initially implemented in the UK and Latin America, with most channels (except Sony BBC Earth) receiving new logos in that style. Additionally, the Sony Ten networks and Sony Six have been rebranded to Sony Sports 1-5, with the network now known as Sony Sports Network. Their SonyLIV streamer had already implemented the logo style in 2020, when it had a complete relaunch.

Staying in India, public broadcaster Doordarshan's flagship channel DD National had a new look back in their Independence Day in August. The yellow shade, in use since 1995, was dropped, in favour of a red ident:

Also worth mentioning the Sony channels in India are now held by Culver Max Entertainment, from one of their defunct studios. It's still owned by Sony, and only used in corporate terms though, as the consumers are still seeing Sony Picture Network on screen.
