I think the problem is that the while the logos are now all the same, there's nothing to distinguish the numbered channels on outside advertising, all using the same white background and style. The numbers that represent the channels could practically just be invisible and all under just the "RTL" master brand, even though RTL is a network of channels in the Netherlands rather than just one.
I think that's just the dilemma of branding your channels as numerals, as opposed to what countries like Hungary do by spelling the logos out. Then again, you basically break the whole "NPO 1-3, RTL 4-5, SBS 6" system they have as neat as it is.
