Hong Kong’s TVB Jade rebranded exactly at midnight, including the on screen appearance of the channel name for the first time in its history.
Russia’s TNT4 has also rebranded today with a modified and recoloured version of the THT diamond logo and graphics, replacing the circle 4 logo.
Also rebranded on the New Year: CCTV-3 Variety in China, retiring the Simplified Chinese wordmark with a new 3 symbol (that matches more with CCTV-4 and the newer corporate logo). youtu.be
Some other bits of pres and festive variations: youtu.be
Turns out VRT 1 isn't the only one who's changing how it's called: Canal Uno in Colombia changed its vocal name to El 1, the common abbreviation of the channel, back in March with an updated branding. noticias.canal1.com.co
Continuity (interesting to see a TV channel embracing memes on air): youtu.be
Around the South Americas, big changes are coming to TV Azteca in Mexico, as their pay TV lineup are reorganized with a streaming focus (specifically looking into FAST channels): www.tvlaint.com
They're also rebranded, with the most notable case being TV Azteca Mundo, renaming as TV Azteca Internacional after 9 years. Other channels, meanwhile, had their wordmarks redesigned. youtu.be
And in Germany, Saarländische Rundfunk, the local ARD station in the South West, may have a corporate rebrand coming soon, as a new symbol can be seen in their logo files (www.sr.de ):
I may have mentioned this before on the blue/purple places, but I've never failed to be amazed by the international channel pres of Al Jazeera.
I think their logo is actually an interpretation of the spelling of 'The Peninsula' in Arabic, which of course is the meaning of Al Jazeera.
شبه الجزيرة
My Arabic friend also spells my name using what I tell him looks like "nice backward squiggles". It's the point of knowing other cultures.
