The new look was designed by a team of Swiss design agencies: Vaud-based design agency Hymn, Lausanne type foundry NewGlyph/Swiss Typefaces (led by Ian Party) and a sound logo from French pop singer and producer Sandor.

This is very very nice - some bits could do with just a pinch of polishing but the concept on a whole is lovely. I definitely think this is the kind of thing ITV should’ve done instead of what they came out with  - I feel like there’s a few parallels here.

A year later, DD National is changing to a new look again. This time, it's using a orange and blue combination, plus dropping the centre globe (in the final symbol) and reverting back to only using their Hindi name on screen.

A longer ident with alternative music also exists, after the holding junction:

Meanwhile, Sony Channel in Latin Americas slightly updated their symbol from shades of purple to a more 'passionate' red and orange.

From the 4th September, VRT's second channel Canvas is getting a fresh new look and name, VRT Canvas.
Gédéon, who worked on VRT 1's rebrand earlier in May, has worked on the new look for VRT Canvas. Gone is the black and white, in comes some more colour.
Here's a press article in Flemish.

TVMonaco, which will be funded by the state, advertising revenue and sale of programming, is launching in the Monaco area, as well as the French Rivera today (September 1st). Early lineup will begin with unscripted programming, with scripted production following later in a year or so. Some of the output will also appear globally on TV5Monde.

I loved their whimsical take on the weather forecast with Monacoco the seagull, she's got personality. Bravo to the production team and everyone at TVMonaco for a successful launch!
Love the channel's branding too, very classy and love the diamond device they use.

The best of luck to them. A great presenter line-up and a pretty decent, talented team behind the scenes. I also love the branding approach. Feels modern but also very Monegasque. The news and sport set is also a great use of a small space with the unusual use of wood (and I believe a nod to the shape of the coastline in its design). I really hope the channel develops. Monaco may be small but there’s real scope for the operation gaining good audience across the Cote D’Azur.

Sony Pictures Television has offloaded more of its international channels, now its German-speaking channels. They have been sold to the owner of the Deluxe Music channels, High View Fernsehbetriebs GmbH, based in Landshut (part of the Munich metropolitan region). As a result, the strange Sony AXN brand has been dropped, as well as all Sony branding. They will still license the AXN brand, but each channel gets a new name: Sony AXN becomes AXN Black, Sony Channel becomes AXN White, and Sony One (a VOD platform for pay TV operators) renamed AXN+.
