ITV threatens to drop news
#11

Other than news though what PSB responsibilities does ITV (as in Channel 3) have left? Kids content has been shipped out to CITV a long time ago other than in the breakfast slot at weekends and local programming outside news in England at least is limited to the few episodes of the political shows they do a year. There is no sign of any religious programming requirements - the only other thing might be current affairs where along with Tonight they have the post-news shows like On Assignment and Exposure which feel like they were commissioned on merit rather than to meet a quota considering they weren't in the schedules a decade or so ago.

Ultimately too as much as ITV want a bite of that streaming pie so much of their most successful content works because of the linear environment they exist - their entire daytime line up and arguably the soaps too. You'd struggle to launch a format like The Chase in a streaming only environment.
