If Dan thinks ITV will replace Carolyn McCall with some hard right person, I very much doubt it. ITV isn't the BBC where they can add someone with political links to the government.

ITV answers to their shareholders and advertisers.

Also Carolyn McCall is responsible for ITV as a whole, only the board at ITV if there is one could get rid of her and it's very unlikely. More likely it'll only go as far as Martin Frizzell being moved on.

Dan clearly does not understand that this issue only goes as far as This Morning and not ITV as a whole.

Of course what Wootton understands and what he tells his audience are two completely different things. Although you’d imagine it does go higher up than those directly over This Morning, if the ITV lawyers were involved.

I’ve just watched back a few minutes of Peter Andre on the breakfast show expecting it to seem wrong and he was surprisingly capable. Wouldn’t be surprised if he finds himself presenting This Morning himself at some point.

I think Peter Andre did pretty well in the breakfast slot, as mention in prevoius post Ellie did seem to be driving the the presenter role but was a good match for the morning

I've got to agree, he was surprisingly good at it.

It's June and Darren McCaffrey is still Political Editor. It was back in January he announced he was leaving. In February his successor, Christopher Hope was announced.

Wonder when they're changing over?

Senior Political journalists tend to change jobs at end of parliament year and the big shuffle starts over summer recess.

That said,  it's GB News so who knows

Does the issue only go as far as This Morning? Pip Schofield wasn't just the presenter of that show, but also many other ITV programmes. Arguably he was the face of ITV. If this saga continues to affect ITV plc's share price (which has gone down quite a bit in the past month) then the board (yes, there is one) won't think twice about getting rid of Dame McCall.

Anyway, back to discussing The People's News Channel... they seem to be on a little bit of a roll lately. First the Eamonn Holmes interview, now getting Peter Andre to guest host breakfast... it may be a bit tacky but it's got everyone talking about them. Now they just need to get rid of the space cadets...

Just disgraceful, but their entire approach to news is to preface things with opinion and loaded terms.   See they were using axing Piers and taking issue with Jeremy Clarksons comments as example too.

All to be expected of course - you kind of have to give credit to Dan Woottan for making a success of his show but that interview with Eamonn especially highlighted what a poor journalist he is and what a poor operation it all is with absolutely no attempt to do anything other than be an echo chamber for their own views.

Yes and it's funny how Wootton accepts what his guests claim over this and yet joins the hate campaign against 'arry 'n Megs because he claims she lied.
