The two GBN journalists were hired to be political correspondents which in most broadcast media outlets would be expected to be impartial.
However Harwood and Utley both came from outlets that allowed them to publish opinion pieces previously.
It doesn't matter what he was hired for. He was still switching between presenting news and opinion pieces at the drop of a hat. Same as what you're accusing Harwood and Utley of.
You criticise GB News for being called GB *NEWS*, but the GMB studio features ITV News branding prominently, and uses a very similar graphics package. Most people would assume that it was an ITV News programme - the fact that ITN received many complaints about GMB during the Piers era proves this.
I was counteracting Stockland's argument that GBN and GMB are entertainment programmes rather than impartial news programmes.
Viewers don't watch GBN or GMB for rolling news, it's a diet of tabloid speech output although GMB has become more moderate since Piers left.
Even GMB has impartial reporters who don't give their opinion when they're reporting from Westminster, yet GBN continues to blur that border between impartial reporting and opinion. It's a bad precedent that GBN continues to do that and erodes what is great about British impartial broadcasting, even on a tabloid outlet.
