Really, I'd love to know what is so special about GB News that everyone and their dog is seemingly itching to go and work there. Do they support the channel's values? Are they being paid really well? Perhaps GB News is more in tune with the public than its detractors like to make out?
I notice they've actually added some rolling news to daytime now. I suppose the 'all opinion, all the time' format just didn't work? It is nice to see Mark Longhurst on TV again, I must say.
It does frustrate me in many ways. I do think GB News could be utterly fantastic in the right hands - with Sky News being as drab as it is now, and BBC News effectively closing down next year, we could really do with a decent UK news channel that is lively and breaks lots of stories. They certainly have a lot of good presenters. I just wish they would move away from the focus on opinion (and let's face it, a certain kind of opinion). There are plenty of other outlets for that stuff.
