This doesn't come entirely unexpected, but nevertheless, big news
We realised it years ago when all the closures started.........

If I have to be honest and truthful, I'm not sure how this is going to help Disney in the long-term. Sure, they'd still have some sort of stake in ESPN if they did sell it, but what about their other cable networks like Freeform or FX?

FX especially, since it's their equivalent to WBD's HBO. Plus it feels very incorporated into both Disney+ and Hulu, so to sell it off wouldn't be such a wise idea. Freeform has always been stuck in this really weird spot, it wants to target the "youthful, millennial" audience, but has an overgrown spot on their back that they can't get rid of until they inevitably give up and pay, that being the 700 Club.

But for stuff like ABC and Nat Geo, would it really be wise to sell it to another company? What would they do that Disney doesn't?

CBS has announced a new strike proof fall schedule with broadcast outings for Yellowstome and Seal Team and an airing of the BBC version of Ghosts, presumably cut for time.

Very interesting article about the quickening pace of streaming and FAST Channels. PlutoTv is quickly gaining market share

This is a very interesting chart. I wonder what this looks like for the UK viewership for streaming versus traditional broadcast

LX News shut down in July. Their Youtube channel stayed idle since mid-July, while their Twitter account was active until the end of the month.

An update on the Mouse: They're looking to offload ABC. Nexstar and Byron Allen, of all people, are the ones interested:

And Tom Carter, former Nexstar executive, is really enthusiatsic about it.

Is that even allowed? Nexstar already owns CW and I thought you couldn't fully control two major US TV stations?
