It also appears on the North East Tonight titles…

It’ll be interesting to see if they update this. I don’t think many of the ITV regional titles have been changed since they launched in 2013. But this might stick out as more obviously out of date than, say, the train with an old livery on Calendar’s titles.

Hope they keep using that sting. A lot of people from the North East are very, very upset about what has happened.

Not just the sting, it’s on the main titles as the end shot before the title card:

So it is! That must be the temporary set which was last seen in Southampton? Albeit configured a bit differently.

Do they still have a second working studio they can move into at the Pink Palace (as per Southampton) or did they had to convert a conference room or some such?

TV Studio History notes Look North switched between two studios - depending on availability - until eventually settling down in the big studio A that had taken some network bookings early in its life.

I do wonder if their colleagues in the North West will get their set upgraded, unless that set in particular is where the News at 1 is moving to.

Look North lost its weather forecast tonight. Presenter introduced it, it cut to a longer shot of the studio for around 10-15 seconds, before he apologised for the loss of the forecast and ad-libbed a brief summary himself. The shot then belatedly moved closer, he ended the programme, the shot moved back to the longer one as the outro music played, and then it abruptly faded out. After some silence, the end titles appeared and the weather forecast very briefly flickered on screen before the national forecast began.

Forecast appears for less than a second at 1:07. Sound crackles/delays are a result of recording software, not what was broadcast (the sound fading out early at the end of the bulletin was what was broadcast, though).

That’s the Pink Palace set up and ready for rehearsals…studio’s a bit smaller than I thought, mind (no, that isn’t the Jersey studio - too big!)
