"Vibes" being very much the word of the day here. The first 3 stations all have descriptions about the 'vibes' they give. How nice of them!

Never an easy task to define an entire station in ten words or less, but yes - is "vibes" x3 really the best way of describing the R1 stations?

Not sure if they still do this, but they went through a phase of posting cringeworthy memes on the main BBC YouTube anno feed. Getting the same kind of vibe here (apologies).

Why not go the whole hog?

Radio 2: The best mellow pop and middle-age vibes.

Radio 3: Classical music and jazz for only the best posh vibes.

Alternatively, it makes a lot of sense to link the three Radio 1 streams using the same word?

It looks like they have fixed it - the BBC logo shrinks in size to remain centred.

Tried to log in to the BBC on my TV and the regular video explaining the video has an awful nightmare-inducing text to speech voiceover now. Not what I'd want to have on my TV at 3:30am!

What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.

Why, I wouldn't have thought there was any issue with the Mark Radcliffe version the iPlayer used originally, aside from it not including the QR code method of logging in.

Ofcom is set to receive more powers over the BBC's online content, including the BBC News website and YouTube content.

Certainly a wide range of opinion in the comments section of that article..

At school they taught me how to be
So pure in thought and word and deed
They didn't quite succeed...

The Mastodon experiment is extended for another half year.

There's an interesting footnote regarding BBC News making the switch to the platform (there are currently bots that mirror their Twitter content over there, but no official accounts):
Quote:We have been asked by a number of people on Mastodon to include BBC News social accounts in the trial. Because of the potential sensitivity around news stories, we need to be particularly careful with our editorial processes and within the scope of this trial we are not in a position to guarantee time and effort from other teams outside of R&D. This means we haven't been able to include BBC News in the trial yet, but we are working on it.

Would be interesting to see that becoming reality!
