A surprise episode of Coast on BBC Two after the Women's Super League coverage.
What does that say about a channel if it scares fish? Just talk me through that.

Turns out Alan Shearer and Ian Wright haven't quite boycotted TV altogether this weekend!

An interesting choice in this situation considering Neil Oliver's politics...

The truncated format of today's WSL coverage will likely be the template for next week's live FA Cup coverage if the issue has not been resolved.

It’s a great point, assuming he appears. And of course whilst he’s not working on BBC projects any longer, to the viewers he’s a face of the corporation if they’re still showing his programme.
Also where does it end, are weather presenters banned from having opinions on climate change? Are historians that feature on programming banned from having political views? Of course people will respond with, “yeah, but Lineker’s on a 570 billion pounds a year” or whatever the number is. But what he’s paid and whether he should be paid that is a totally different matter. Some will say the amount is relevant but who decides when the figure paid by the Corporation becomes a factor in what someone can say on social media.
On a related note, I could see a situation where Match of the Day is outsourced to an independent company and Lineker’s employed by them to stay off the high earners list.

Wouldn't be suprised if the choice of Coast was deliberate from pro-Lineker employees to highlight the hypocrisy.

Although to be fair, it’s still a default choice anyway for BBC Two isn’t it?

True- though that being the case despite Oliver's outspoken views being well known in itself just proves the point anyone pro-Gary is trying to make.

I notice the BBC pages for the live football and rugby are still like and comment free. I imagine the later is to stop being inundated with comments on Lineker but I’m not sure why likes and dislikes are absent as nothing even subtly referring to Linekar is being posted.
