To a UK viewer, nothing visual has changed - the same presenter carries on, the graphics, music and branding remain the same, but we now have a complete change in focus that isn’t acknowledged. We here know why, but your average viewer must find it confusing how the agenda suddenly flips.I’m wondering how many viewers will notice that these UK-focused content become Breakfast VT repeats, instead of those DTL interviews we used to get.
I generally support the idea behind the changes, but they seem to have skipped the stage in the planning where they consider what they need to do to serve both audiences seamlessly.
They might don’t know about what the format has been changed but they might start to ask “Did I watch this report a short while ago?” more frequently.
