Just noticed the "Behind the News" filler at 11.20am has removed the chameleon "BBC" at the top & "News" at the bottom to avoid the "News" being partly covered by the now defunct flipper strap.
Not a massive fan of the permanent one line straps now being used. For one, they are present continuously throughout the story being run, they cover up 1/5th of the screen and so much space is being wasted. They could be a lot narrower, black areas above & below the wording currently, the BBC News logo, time & website could all be incorporated into one line. If anything, the strap could be removed once each story starts rather than persisting, I'm not sure what the idea of that is, unless we assume the audience forget what is being discussed.
I just find the overall package of BBC News graphics dull, bland & lifeless right now with no personality whatsoever. These newspaper style Reith font headline graphics are just so depressing.
