It'll be a case of the flipper back in action for 2 minutes at 3:06pm followed by "bbc.co.uk/news" for the rest of the day. Then we'll have the old red logo patch countdown reinstated at midnight tonight followed by the return of the chameleon countdown at noon tomorrow. As for title sequences? Your guess is as good as mine what we'll get from hour to hour.

If you want a competent rolling news service where you can rest easy instead of fearing the next mistake coming up imminently, where there are no awkward presenter silences, no crashing in and out of opt-outs and it's a service produced by television professionals rather than amateurs, switch to Sky News - nowhere near the budget of BBC News but at least they take pride in their on air work.
