So this afternoon we've just had presumably UK-only coverage of the junior doctors' strike. It's good, in-depth coverage with a lot of guests, explainers and regional contributions. But it's only about this one subject, there's no other stories at all, which is exactly what you'd expect if you click on the front page of iPlayer where it says "Junior Doctors in England on Strike" but perhaps not if you tune into the BBC News channel where the EPG just says "BBC News".
Not sure I feel about it, the coverage itself was good and it's exactly in that spot of "important to the UK but not at all to the rest of the world". Given it's not a fast-developing story, any longer would have felt far too long, so going to World Buisness Report at 14:30 felt about right. It's a better way of getting UK news on the channel than some of the others they're doing, at least.
I'm not sure if there's been a non-holiday weekday that the "breaking news team" haven't put anything out so far?
