I don't think any of the earlier posts were actually saying the coverage of the Tina Turner news was unjustified, if anything it was mainly praise. Perhaps people are just used to that being the topic of discussion after showbiz-related news recently!
On the subject of Politics Live, certainly I've seen the merged channel attempt to use it for PMQs. A few Wednesdays ago at 11:50ish, I think after a sports bulletin, the channel cut to Jo Coburn looking at the camera clearly waiting to say "welcome to viewers on the News channel" but all you could hear were two guests shouting at each other. After about two minutes of their "debate", the UK opt broke in to cover a speech in the Lords and then got back to the Commons for PMQs. So it wasn't really worth bothering at the time and made for bizarre viewing.
