After the 2010 schedule changes, the weekend basically began at about noon on Friday, with about half of the afternoon and evening schedules completely different. It got sort of a bit better in recent years (in terms of dropping non-newsy bits), but you still had a few stranded programmes that disappeared on Fridays for no real reason.
