You could be forgiven for thinking that BBC management are not really bothered about retaining the talent and experience of these anchors. Wasn't this channel supposed to be a merger of World News and the UK News Channel? The BBC it seems have treated it as the creation of an entirely new channel, with new staff all needing to apply for new jobs, which explains why so many of the UK NC staff left last April. It wouldn't be surprising if any of these 5 presenters now walk.
UK Politics is going to ramp up from the start of March, with the spring budget leading into crucial local and Mayoral elections in England on 2 May.
There's still a possibility of a snap General Election being called for May, but if not, the autumn is going to be mad for both UK and international news, with the US and UK elections expected within weeks or even days of each other. In a crucial year for global and domestic news, you'd think the BBC would be doing it all can to hold on to it's most experienced news anchors and presenters.
