Now that I think about it, Television came to the Republic of Ireland on New Year's Eve 1961, so this Is going to be the first Coronation that will ever be broadcast on TV in Ireland!
Unless of course there were viewers who could get BBC NI from Divis in 1953? Was there a temporary mast set up in NI for both the state funeral of King George VI and the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II?
