Haikus are rubbish. If you have to count the syllables in each line and check if it conforms to some arbitrary standard before you even know it's a poem then that's too much work and no one can possibly enjoy it. Make it rhyme or don't bother, and I'd happily say that to the 17th century Japanese and Channel 4 equally.
I watched Partygate on Tuesday evening. The graphics promoting 'support' and Googlebox covered some of the credits. Did the production company not stick to Channel 4 credit guidelines or did Channel 4 mess up by overlapping graphics on a programme they shouldn't have?
At the end, when captions appeared telling us a little more about the parties in 10 Downing Street and how we came to know about them, the caption praised the Daily Mirror for breaking one of the stories but the audio description gentleman read it as Daily Mail.
What do you make of that?
