Another Bradley show? Really? I would have been more interested seeing Barney paired with someone different- let him shine without his dad. Someone like Alex Scott would’ve been great for this show, but many would argue she’s over-exposed too (I don’t think so though- outside of the football and the very occasional light entertainment guest appearances, there’s nothing else bar Children In Need which is only once a year).

Alex and Barney seems an odd dynamic on paper, which is exactly why they should have tried it. You won’t know if any strange-on-paper dynamics work unless you take a risk on them. Bradley doing it with his son just seems like nepotism to me, in a way that it wouldn’t if Barney was left to stand on his own two feet with a different co-host.

What made the Fash and Ulrika version work (as much as I’ve grown to dislike them both over the years, for reasons that have nothing to do with Gladiators) was that they weren’t overexposed like Bradley is- they only became flavour of the month after Gladiators has launched, whereas Bradley has been flavour of the month for years now.

Rob is more of a Channel 4/Sky face these days than a BBC one, but I remember them trying to push him for a while. Tom Allen too, but the same thing now- he's more C4 outside of The Apprentice stuff.

Were the axed episodes of that Wedding show he did with Lorraine Kelly ever aired?

Although I really do think they could've made a better choice here, it is a relief to see Holly Willoughby not taking the role as I feared she might.
