Absolutely - that was the case for the first four years really, though BB3 and BB4 scaled back slightly on the features in favour of more highlights but they were still there. Short highlights were sufficient though because the week was planned so that nothing much happened format wise on a Thursday - and indeed practically it gave production and indeed the HMs a bit more of a chilled day ahead of the big events of Friday night.
Indeed watching some of the early half hour daily shows just highlights how more time doesn't mean more action - I felt you got a better snapshot of what was happening in the house than you did in some of the later hour-long shows.
Davina also interacted with the crowd much more when the show was studio based, speaking to people within the crowd at points during the show. Once eviction shows were switched to outside she just talked at them really. I also liked the focus on friends and family in the early years too - both on eviction night and on BBLB. The housemates were treated as people back then, rather than just as characters as seemed the case in later years.
