That background looks nicer that the one they usually have in Atlanta these days.

Perhaps the first even CNNi show anchored from Barcelona then? Barring perhaps the Catalonia Independence Referendum?

I`m happy that they are ditching this studio. From 2006 when they launched it, it always felt like a cupboard when they have a big newsroom behind it.

Not sure if that space has a name, it’s basically a flash studio in an area behind the main B/C set. The red chair in the photo is used by Jim Sciutto for his Max show. The black screen to the left is covering a window.
Sad to hear that this is the final week from CNN Center. Shame that we’ll see flash sets before the new studios, although it makes sense with next week being Thanksgiving in the US. Wonder if the last show will be Kim Brunhuber on Friday or Fredricka Whitfield on Sunday and if the weekend shows might stay at CNN Center a bit longer considering Victor Blackwell just launched a studio show 2 weeks ago.

Their biggest mistake. And to think that all of these years, we could have had a great looking newsroom behind, fitting for CNN Center, instead of a local news channel set up we got in 2006.

Well keep in mind the CNNi set isnt going to be completely new. Its going to be a re-dressed Studio7 set. I imagine its probably going to be installed in smaller space than the old Studio 7. If not I would be surprised. I also have a sinking feeling that its probably going to be chopped up and bits used for Domestic in a smaller studio and the bigger chunk used for CNNI or vice verse depending on the need. The fact they couldnt even get Atlanta a new set SPEAKS VOLUMES about how they feel about CNNI and the domestic productions. But also the fact that there clearly is no actual on camera "grand" newsroom anymore. Atlanta certainly has the look of a "backoffice" operation. The meat and guts....whilst NYC and DC are the showpiece locations.
