As per usual, the Domestic breakfast show was a pre-record on Xmas day. Can't remember the last time the weekend crew did one. Pretty sad that it was still done in separate boxes as every weekend...

CNN International is hosting New Year's Eve coverage today with Kristie Lu Stout, Paula Newton, Becky Anderson, Lynda Kinkade and Christina MacFarlane, and reporters around the world, before the usual simulcast of CNN US NYE show.

Quite surprising to see them do something special on a holiday and a weekend. Pretty much an all day long CNNI production, which happens rarely these days.

From Kristie's Instagram account, their HK location choice this year (much higher up than their usual live outdoor position at Ocean Terminal) was absolutely breathtaking!

Some 2004 breaking news coverage. CNNI at its best, joint coverage from London and Atlanta with Finn & Ralitsa, Richard Roth reports from UN, Maggie Lake from NYSE, guests, reporters, updates....

Will be interesting to see how much CNNi cover the Speaker race tomorrow, there's no domestic coverage of it listed on International (It's normal shows) but it will be interesting if International does simulcast as the process could be quite long and interesting.

It's rather bizarre watching Rosemary Church and now CNN London people reporting on an NFL player (that them and most of us have never heard of) collapsing during the game, which in itself is sad and terrible but at the time when there's a war going on, you have to wonder what exactly are CNN International's priorities these days.

CNNI morning output is just a full scale domestic overnight service now. From greeting their precious '' US viewers'' first to the night time London background used at 9am local time, it's all very clear....

Who cares if nobody had ever heard of him.  He had a heart attack during a live broadcast of a game and when you get a heart attack at the tender young age of 24, it's a big deal no matter who you are.  The fact the game was abandoned because of this makes it even more noteworthy.

I'm more concerned that he's okay.  But saying that CNNI's priorities are out of whack just because they gave extensive coverage to something you obviously have no interest in, is just plain wrong, and let's face it, the war in Ukraine has been going on for 10 months now, and it's liable to be going on for at least a few more months and probably most of this year.  I don't think it was wrong to cover something that was extraordinary in the circumstances and give it extensive coverage.
