Adweek claims that CNN couldn’t support building a team in DC for Laura Coates. While it makes sense, it’s a shame that Laura faced the ultimatum of moving to NY or not having a Primetime show.
Something to remember if Kaitlan Collins lands 9pm…

CNN made a point of highlighting the diversity in their previous schedule (notably the promotions of Victor Blackwell, Abby Phillip, Jim Acosta, Ana Cabrera and Boris Sanchez). While Victor, Laura, and Don’s latest moves have rational explanations, it’s always worth a Reality Check to make sure that there isn’t an optics issue, or worse, a culture issue.

I am no fan of Chris Licht, but as far as I can recall, CNN haven't actually hired any new anchors through his tenure so far. It appears to be utilising existing anchors far better to be honest. You’re right. In the Licht Era: Brian Stelter has been fired, Ana Cabrera and Christi Paul have left, and Pamela Brown has lost a regular anchoring roster. CNN filled roles in-house with Amara Walker, Kaitlan Collins, and Sara Sidner receiving new anchoring duties. No new hires might be in part due to the excess of talent from CNN+ still roaming the halls. If Don Lemon were to leave the morning show I’d expect Audie Cornish to take his role. If Kaitlin were to leave the morning show I’d expect Erica Hill or Biana Golodryga to inherit her seat. Still not sure where Kasie Hunt will land.
