She left CNN to work on her book and take some time off in general and she made it clear from the start she will be back, somewhere, eventually. This latest conflict maybe made that return sooner than planned but from what I've seen she's labeled as NBC/MSNBC contributor, not a regular reporter, so it's just a temporary gig,.
Too good....? In any event, thats wrong. She is no longer referred to as a contributor. I was watching with own eyes and ears she is definitely being referred on air and on screen as NBC News Correspondent. So i wouldnt say temporary. CNN's massive loss is NBC's gain by a mile.

Here is more about her sabbatical in Vogue magazine. Still interesting she left when loads of other presenters were stepping away. All at the same time. What people said in public is not always whats meant in private.
