I made note of Hala's move a few pages back. She went from a few guest appearances to being labeled as an NBC News contributor in London. Now, she's in Tel Aviv and an NBC News correspondent. I thought the relationship was pretty casual, but it looks like things moved quickly.
I haven't seen her do any actual reporting in the streets yet. She's mostly just been giving her analysis and providing some much-needed background on NBC News Now and MSNBC, though I did also see her on NBC News Daily today. I don't think she's been on Nightly News or the Today show just yet.
If this is permanent, then I'm thrilled. I've always been a Hala fan, and I'm so glad to see her back on TV. She was a big loss for CNN. Of the main US networks, NBC is the only one by far that can rival CNN in international coverage.
