The pics of the previous studios are awesome to look back on, thanks for posting. Do you have any YouTube links to share of them in use?

Your 2012 caps show the last time afaik CNNi was allowed to have its own coverage of a US President Election -- iirc CNNi did simulcast Domestic but took off on its own rather than stick around eternally on Domestic!

Another extended Friday Thanksgiving shows this weekend due to events in Israel. The Lead is back to being 4pm-6pm ET which suggests Jake Tapper is back today, The Situation Room is 6pm-8pm and The Source is 8pm-11pm.
Next week schedule suggests that Abby Phillip is off so is being replaced with another hour of Laura Coates Live instead.

I have quite a few. How good was this, as I used to call it ''sad'' YWT music? Easily beats everything they have on right now.

Back when we had some sport/weather fun at the end of every hour. Plus the lesser IDesk theme, but still good with the dramatic end.

I was a bit critical of the World Report theme in my earlier post but it was still good, especially the ending. These music themes had character and were not just bland, generic repetitions that we usually have these days.

Election coverage in 2012. CNNI could actually do it, y'all !!!

I was wrong about the last bit. Pamela Brown was presenting The Lead today but Wolf Blitzer did also present the 5pm hour alongside her which I guess was always the plan anyway that he would do that hour. He also presented CNN News Central from 1pm ET.
I also saw Becky Anderson co-present the 6am and 7am hour of CNN This Morning with Kaitlan Collins presenting the 8am hour and News Central. No Inside Politics today so it was done from New York for an extra hour.

Saturday's morning line-up totally scrapped in favour of Israel-Hamas war rolling coverage.
8a ET was billed as CNN This Morning Weekend, since 9am it's "Newsroom".
Since 8a ET Kaitlan Collins is heavily participating in the coverage and even coanchors some of the hours.
(On the studio side, it was Victor Blackwell until 10a ET, now it's Pamela Brown.)
CNNI schedule shifted the Amanpour Hour at 11p ET, while CNN/US one hasn't been updated.

Wow, that's interesting. Who was anchoring them? CNNI anchors (Isa Soares? Richard Quest? Their shows got scrapped on CNNI yesterday) or rather CNN Max ones (like Jim Sciutto)?

June 10th, 2013 is when the last incarnation of CNN Center studio 4 made its debut, on International Desk. It was a welcome change, after the blue/yellow mess the previous set became. The tired looking 2006 newswall was gone, replaced by a bigger, more up-to-date version, also more plasma screens were added everywhere plus the screen on the right side was kept. It all looked more modern, fresh and colourful. They had a chance to totally change the colours of the whole set, for different shows, and they sure did that, well at least for the first 6 months or so. The desk also changed positions and would sometimes be totally gone, usually for World Sport.

Just like with the 2006 set, the vibrant fresh look did not last long. In early 2014 they switched all the studio wall lights to dark and light blue and started using the awful blue background full of screens on the newswall. Whatever that thing was, someone sure loved it cause over the years it appeared as a backdrop to many CNN reporters using flesh sets and it even features in Studio 7, on one of the walls.
2014 was also a year of transitions and personnel changes. Hala moved back to London, Ralitsa presented her final newscast before leaving and new faces, like Lynda Kinkade and Robyn Curnow came as replacement. Anyone could pop up and co-anchor, I guess they were auditioning or something. Even Kiran Chetry appeared one morning, long after leaving CNN US.
By the end of the year CNN Today with Michael and Amara debuted, giving us a preview of how the set and visuals will be for the rest of the decade.

You can see from when the set debuted, they could actually do a lot with it and it looked quite good. I remember in previous forums that the comments were positive. The different positions for the desk, the different colours, the different anchor presenting positions...
Then, it all went downhill! Those awful blue screens projected behind the anchors, the single desk position in front that made the studio seem smaller and the dark blue studio colours really ruined it.
The pics make me nostalgic! Fionnuala Sweeney, Ralitsa, Asieh, Jonathan Mann, Coleen, Maria Ramos, Zane. What a team!
