Count me in as another one who's perplexed by the ascension of Kasie Hunt. She is just so awkward on camera and always has been even when she did the same o'dark-thirty hour on MSNBC. I bet she might do better if she were paired up with an affable co-anchor, but who would that be in DC? Plus, if cost-cutting is the end-all-be-all, then three hours of Kasie Hunt solo in a cupboard studio is what we'll get, I guess.
Also, what no better example of how terrible this industry is when you think that CNN just laid off an entire Atlanta-based morning team just one year ago when Morning Express was canceled? I guess that was still the Licht era, so they were still really trying to make CNN This Morning work. Hopefully some of those ex-Morning Express writers and producers who are still in Atlanta and want to get re-hired will be able to do so.
