Clever clever clever. CNN is doing a great job visually showing the breaking news. Today is a special coverage of Supreme Court coverage of the Trump ballot case. BUT there is only audio. The problem how do you visually tell that story in an interesting way. They are using their video walls to share information but then also they have created dynamic graphics to show who is speaking. If there is a conversation between two people their image is shown. And as they speak the colour behind their picture turns red from gray. This switches back and forth as they speak. VERY CLEVER. So the viewer knows who is speaking, but its far more interesting than just showing a full screen graphic. Which is quite boring. Kudos to CNN. This is being done by FNC and MSNBC to an extent, but the red background change is clever.

Paula Reid appeared from the cupboard for just one story (Carlson/Putin interview), and Erin Burnett Outfront started right after that, 9 minutes before the TOTH.

It seems they are calling it TURNER BROADCAST STUDIOS or TURNER HQ. Maybe we should be using their naming convention since it was officially christened TURNER TECHWOOD STUDIOS as an homage to Ted Turner. The glimpses of the set it does look pretty decent. Either they got a completely new set or they heavily updated the Studio 7 set. But under that plastic bit it looks like sofa area. There seems to be yellow on the cubbies and the sofa itself. Unusual. We shall see. Anything is better than the old cobbled together mess that currently is being used at the shutter CNN Center on the weekends. Those night shots of TURNER TECHWOOD looks great across to the Atlanta Skyline. Weird they are back there. Buts their spiritual home. But its been significantly expanded since it was only the centre bit where the golf course club house used to be (the columns building).

But before they move to the new set, sometime in April, they will move to a new flash cam set, at the end of this month
