The new Breakfast/Sport studio would work well with the sofa swapped out for a desk, but I can't help but think some of the other regional/national studios would be far better if they wanted to relocate the programme. Belfast and Cardiff both have nice new sets (with desks) but if they wanted it to remain in England, it would make sense to put a set more like Studio B's into somewhere like Newcastle where it would fit perfectly.
This would result in the News at One being in a studio far better suited to it than any in Salford and it also means the BBC could proudly say that one of their flagship news bulletins comes from somewhere outside of London/Salford.
