A few predictions, some more serious than others.
- Closure date for CBBC and BBC Four linear channels announced. Citing lower than expected licence fee increase as reason.
- More BBC equivalent of FAST channels available on iPlayer, in part of make up for closure of linear channels.
- BBC announces removal of radio stations from TV platforms, citing their Sounds app as the alternative on TV and the need to save money.
- Channel 4 and 5 announce that at least one of their linear channels is closing, and is becoming a FAST channel on their catchup service.
- Various channels start closing their +1 channels, citing their catchup service. Only flagship channels retain their +1 variant.
- The aftermath of the next general election sees more former politicians join Talk TV and GB News.
- Plans finally announced to convert another Freeview multiplex to DVB-T2 to support more HD channels.
- One or more streaming service announce a merger, or is taken over by the other.
- Another TV personality gets involved in a scandal, which involves them from being dropped from their TV programme.
- Piers Morgan wins best TV presenter and the NTAs, narrowly beating Dan Wootton.
- In an unexpected sweary outburst David Attenborough is overheard saying that; "I tried to f***ing tell you all, but nobody bloody listened until it was almost too late. Too many politicians around the world are spineless ****s."

First bit is likely, second bit won't happen as it doesn't have any programmes

Again unlikely as its the worldwide audience that pays for it

They're not going to remove one of its key format points.

Can just imagine a downmarket Question Time... a 20 minute discussion on whether Braeburn or Golden Delicious is the better variety of apple, followed by "That's what the panel thinks, but which is actually better? There's only one way to find out..."

Isn't Question Time already a downmarket version of Question Time?

None of these is happening. I know BBC Three Ver.2 isn't setting the world alight with its ratings and is the most expensive BBC TV channel to run (£95m budget as of the last annual report) but it would be an admission of self-sabotage towards their younger audience and a clear stance that the BBC is only serving older audiences if they had to close it again. They aren't going to kill it anytime soon.

I see the CBBC channel being more likely to get the chop, the Beeb has definitely gotten more reassurance that children's TV is at a point of no return with the shift to on-demand and ITV closing CITV only has strengthened that argument. BBC Four costs little to run and still retains a healthy audience though it's very clear the end-goal is to remove the transmission costs of running their fourth network stream.

I'm actually going to call CBBC and BBC4 being saved post-election as a prediction. I think the linear red button stream will go though post Olympics.

A few BBC Four programmes have already transferred to Two already in the past 2-3 years (e.g Digging For Britain) and it wouldn't surprise me if the rest of new stuff they still play such as The Sky At Night end up moving over in over the next few years if not by the end of 2024.
