First series was more pink/magenta than blue:
But it was the same near enough as the later set from Series 7 onwards just in new packaging.
But yes, nobody watched Strike It Lucky for the set, and it could probably be argued nobody watched it for the gameplay either, because the format's wafer thin and the only saving grace was the host milking any comedic value out of anything that happened.
Well either that or it lasted 14 series in two incarnations off the back of the popularity of Michael Barrymore alone. Which wouldn't have been impossible at that time...
Still lasted longer than the original US format by some considerable margin though that isn't saying much:
