All3Media sold to Abu Dhabi-backed RedBirdIMI
#1

Abu Dhabi-backed RedBirdIMI, whose boss is former CNN boss Jeff Zucker, is set to buy All3Media.

All3Media is behind many major production companies such as North One and Studio Lambert and many major programmes such as The Traitors, Gogglebox, Call The Midwife and Midsomer Murders.

Quite the development to have such a big player in TV production go to the hands of a foreign government. As noted below, the same company are set to take cintrol of The Telegraph, with Abu Dhabi one of many nation states wading into sport by being the majority owners of Manchester City.

This is a shame. Was kind of hoping BBC Studios and ITV Studios would have made a jointed bid for it. I know they don't have money but I think they would have been a better owner.

ITV were looking at it.

What I don't get is if a government has an issue with it buying a newspaper then surely buying a major TV production house which reaches far more people than The Telegraph should be considered problematic too.

Is it because All3Media is a global company?
