Amazon have given Jeff Stelling a rather faux-spacious looking virtual studio for the goal show. It's great to see him back on air this week.

With no need of a goals show in the Boxing Day week (only two games at 15:00 on the 26th), Jeff is down to present Chelsea v. Crystal Palace for Amazon on the 27th. Steve Bower's involvement with Amazon has not ended despite being replaced on the goals show, he is down to present Everton v. Newcastle tomorrow.
Jon Champion missed yesterday's Luton v. Arsenal coverage (and for NBC on the weekend) with a lost voice, but is back tonight at Old Trafford for Prime.
With plenty of the big names on the Prime coverage rather than their usual world feed duties, a surprise appointment for Mark Scott on the world feed commentary for Man United v. Chelsea, and Pete Odgers, a voice more known to tennis followers, covering Wolves. Burnley yesterday.

So nothing's changed this season, just one of tonight's matches Man U v Chelsea in UHD/HDR. The other five just HD. Unlike Sky and TNT the UHD matches just DD5.1 and not Atmos.

With the fantastic news today that Luton captain Tom Lockyer has been released from hospital, yesterday the Premier League announced that the abandoned Bournemouth v. Luton tie will be replayed in full in the new year.

Not a bad month for TNT's picks really, Everton v Spurs and Arsenal v Newcastle both good games, the latter having the bonus of being in an evening slot.

A rare appearance for the PLP Matchday Live wrap programme on Premier Sports coverage of the early game Newcastle v Nottingham Forest. (They’ll likely do their own coverage for the later games).

The Prime Video post-match coverage of Everton v. Man City a fantastic case study in favour of using studios rather than presenting pitchside - they are getting absolutely soaked!
They were in a studio at half-time, but not pre-match or post-match. Not sure why broadcasters (TNT and Sky also do the same) put the effort in erecting a studio for 10 minutes of use, it feels a bit pointless.
UPDATE: With thunder and lightning around Goodison Park, the presenting team relocated to the fourth or fifth row of one of the stands.

It's partly as a bail-out position in case anything means they can't use the pitchside pres - though the studio at West Ham is an open balcony so might not be much use in the event of crowd trouble. (TNT only used it for half time last week, so barely 10 minutes. It's where the talent tend to spend the match though so maybe useful if there's a lengthy interruption)

They're probably safer in a studio than on the pitchside if there is crowd trouble, and certainly makes more sense to be up there if the weather isn't great - or if they're on air long after the crowd has left.
What is a shame though is how for both football and rugby now pretty much all broadcasters do the same thing - there aren't really notable presentation differences between them now, and indeed much of the talent rotates between broadcasters too, especially in rugby.
