Not sure we should expect anything different from what’s been installed elsewhere. It’ll be interesting to see where is shown on the screens though - a continuation of Salford? It’s probably one of the smallest cities in the region, but at least it avoids the inevitable use of Manchester whilst leaving out Liverpool.
Do all other regions show the city they’re broadcast from?
I’ve always liked that Salford view when compared to some of the new views which are rather uninteresting views. You either want a view which contains a local landmark or you go for something used on Sunday for the likes of politics east.
I remember when I did one of the tours around Salford that the view on the screens was exactly what you could see out the window as they over look the coronation street set so I believe they moved the IWM so that was in shot
It amazed me how low the ceiling was when we went in. We had been told that we couldn’t sit on the sofa whilst we waited for the lunchtime bulletin to finish. Roger was presenting that day and stayed to chat to the group before inviting us to sit on the sofa for photos. The tour guide tried to say we weren’t allowed to which roger replied I’ve said it’s ok before talking to the gallery to confirm. Got a brilliant photo.
