Well it will be interesting how the ITV version has been modernized for 2023. Because they surely cant fully go back to the original Dutch version. TV has changed significantly and the concept is really no longer that unique. So they likely will have to change the concept slightly. Long running versions that have continued to use the Dutch original concept have made modifications over the years to stay relevant . Brazil and Australian versions have incorporated a few of the strategy-game like elements that have been used from series 2 of the American version since 2001. The Dutch version that aired on CBS in 2000 (a few months before BBUK premiered) didnt prove to be a big ratings winner, so CBS forced Endemol to step away from production of the programme and they incorporated the strategic elements that worked on another CBS creation and a runaway hit, Survivor. This gave the show the legs to last on the same channel form 23 years.

It would be very disruptive to the Main ITV schedule to air the normal series on ITV1.

Yeah, there'd be no time for anything else. Just airing it on 1 on Friday at 9pm could work - that'd be the eviction episode if it's done the same way as Channels 4 and 5 did it. The rest needs to stay on ITV2.

So its seems to be set up like Big Brother Canada, USA and Australia. In which the garden/backyard is attached to the side of an existing studio instead of a fully purpose built structure. Makes total sense and its easier to build control and manipulate in a controlled environment. But looking a bit closer, its hard to see the actual physical connection this has to the studio building. Hmm? BB USA has slide patio doors directly connecting the house to the backyard. BBCAN has a hallway bit that connects the house to the hot tub. There are camera runs. In the 2nd picture there is a massive overhead door but its not next to the building, but of course they are still building it. So maybe they will build a hall and some sort of connection to the building itself. (Could this be a scaled down audience space...wild thought)
The CBS Big Brother audience studio is housed is in the same building as the house and its right infront of the house, but the audience studio is very small. The Big Brother Canada audience studio is in a separate building from the actual house and they actually drive the houseguests to the audience studio and make it look like they are going or out of the house through doors on the stage. Big Brother Australia of course no longer has an audience space.

Has anyone noticed that Marcus has toned down his voice, just like in the Channel 4 days, compared to Channel 5 where he was very shouty.

Am I the only one that is finding it funny that after 23 years it is back by a waterway? Instead of in East London now West London.
