The Score bar was ESPN's  I'm guessing they needed one quickly and these games are Raycom Sports leasing from ESPN anyway so....  there was a glitch here too with the time being 0:11 before it started.

It's fun, a A package of games sub-leased from ESPN, produced by Raycom Sports which is owned by Gray, on The CW owned by Nexstar.

Apparently the feed was cut off just ahead of a college football kick-off.

An update on this: The Disney-Charter dispute is resolved, ESPN is now back on air.

The latest alternative NFL broadcast from ESPN/Disney will be a Toy Story themed broadcast of one of the London games.

Back to football: There'll be more ESPN-exclusive matches coming to ABC, thanks to the ongoing writers/actors strikes.

Yeah, Monday Night Football is fully back on its old home of ABC for the first time since 2006., thanks to the strike.

On the subject of Monday Night Football, what is the rationale behing their being two matches yesterday in week 2? They overlapped with each other quite considerably, so I wouldn't think it would benefit ESPN/ABC/Disney or others to split their audience. I think this is an annual occurence.

This season they are doing a few of them ,next week has two different ones, funny enough it's the other Pennsylvania team in one, and the other Ohio team in the other. They will also do it again in December on the 11th.

The NFL TV contracts signed in 2021, Disney which was paying the most before, wanted something more for their money so they were given 3 Monday Night Football double headers. But instead of doing the games after each other and lose some east coast audience and to give a window to ABC.. they decided to stagger the games. 1 game starts in the 7pm ET hour the other starts in the 8pm ET hour.

This explains it well. ftw.usatoday.com

This is a big step down. Sean McManus, the chairman of CBS Sports is retiring next year. He's been there since 1996, had to turn around things when CBS lost NFL rights for a couple years.

His successor will be David Berson who has been there since 2011.

I know it's the NY Post, but Andrew Marchland is a great trustworthy sports media reporter.
