I somehow managed to miss it on yesterday's! I guess I picked up on it more as today's was a special episode.

From the pre-publicity, I got the impression it was a 4 hander, though those 4 characters were the main focus of the episode admittedly. And it was still an 8 handed episode set in one location, with a flashback at the start of part 2, so still unusual.

As I said in the EastEnders thread, a bit of co-incidental scheduling that special episodes of Emmerdale and EastEnders went out on the same day, I'm guessing it wasn't planned.

I felt the episode was a bit gimmicky and was quite unnecessary. Really with the exception of the odd scene and different camera angle you could have switched part 1 and 2 around and it would have been a normal episode.

Tonight's episode is #10,000. The BBC seems to think it airs six days a week for some reason!

Well, as the hour long Thursday episode technically classes as 2 episodes, there are 6 episodes a week even if it isn't on 6 days.
