Agree. The globe titles no longer make any sense alongside the other titles.

Another one on this morning. Who is Lauren Taylor?

Really is a case of be careful what you wish for. Baffling they bought in a new logo based around squares then new presentation based around circles. The Context and The Catch Up did initially suggest they were going to explore imagery based around squares which would tie in with the icon logo much better but that's as far as it went.

The issue with the news channel title sequences though isn't around what shape they use - it's just that they're all pretty poor. If your branding looks cheap your channel looks cheap.

Sportsday at 13:30 was from the BBC Sports studio, rather than its usual BBC Breakfast/Sports news studio. Is this a one-off, or has it moved (temporarily or permanently) as Salford prepares for the arrival of the News at One?

Here it is. Fingers crossed this means News at One from Salford soon.

Will that mean Sportsday won’t ever be from the Breakfast studio (does it have a name?) again?

Would the logical thing not be to move Sportsday to a different time? If the News at One really is a 60 minute bulletin, it would make sense for it to be broadcast on the News Channel (UK feed) in full, thereby displacing Sportsday. Or alternatively roll Sportsday into the News at One, essentially mirroring the sports updates on weekend bulletins.

I wondered if there was piloting or other maintenance to the studio which forced Sportsday out today?

That looks really good. Does the BBC Sport CSO studio have motion tracking? Hopefully t they use that to give us more of the look at this designing in the future if they're gonna be using this permanently. Hopefully they haven't just cheapened out and created like one tiny corner for this backdrop.

iPlayer service identifier on the QR code rather than the News one…

Has it been confirmed that the One will be using the breakfast studio? Would look good from the sports studio too. I had assumed that when the One was announced that it would be extended, then they would use this extra time for an extended sports bulletin or air Sportsday as part of the main programme.
