It's interesting that it was Fredricka Whitfield and Newsroom branding on Domestic as well, not Jake Tapper and SOTU whose time slot it was (and it's not uncommon for the SOTU anchor to do additional live segments for the 12p ET hour, if needed).

Must have been extraordinary indeed to see Don Riddell anchoring breaking news coverage! Did the World sport logo you mention include the background globe as well, or just the name bug? They usually invoke generic "Breaking news" background for those kinds of events...

There was no background logo. It was just the name bug.

Quite a few roster changes for the US Memorial Day/UK Bank Holiday.
Michael Holmes only anchored the 12am hour, with Rosemary anchoring 1-3am and Max Foster 3-5am.
Jessica Dean, after anchoring 5-8pm yesterday (which unofficially feels like her show now), filled in on CNN This Morning and is now on with Boris. Quite a stint.
Bianna Golodryga and Rahel Solomon covered the morning edition of CNN News Central, with Zain Asher anchoring the 11am Newsroom and One World solo. Eleni Giokis covered Connect the World.
Jim Acosta anchored his 10am show and the 11am hour, only difference is he broadcast from Studio B.

Max Foster also did 8am hour on CNNi/Max, from the big London studio.
Last week was also a bit different - it looks like they utilized only two overnight anchors, Paula Newton 12-3am and Max Foster 3-5am on weekdays (both hours from the big studio), with Michael Holmes 12-3am and Anna Coren 3-6am on weekends.

Interesting little tidbits. Ive noticed that since the self-immolation incident at the NYC Courthouse Trump case. I havent been watching every day....or had it on in the background. But it seems CNN more than the other channels, has heavily blurred the background than I remember when their correspondents are standing streetside. They have seemingly stopped using the streetside location to have the anchors the present their coverage. It makes sense for noise and for safety. Their decision to relocated has made so much more sense now as we approach the verdict stage. As it seems people are unhinged nuts these days, so you never know what can happen. FNC still has chairs set up on the corner for their "analysts" and the back its pretty clear across the street to the court house. MSNBC just had a correspondent walking around the square showing the unhinged protesting or supporting. Not sure if that really serves and purpose anymore.
CNN has secured a location on the opposite side of the Courthouse. Most of the worlds media are assembled in the square across the street called Collect Pond Park on Centre Street between Franklin & Leonard. CNN is located seemingly opposite the Courthouse from Columbus Park atop a small hotel on Mulberry Street...called Mulberry Hotel. It has to be, because its the only one with a glass balustrade as seen on air over looking the courthouse across from a park. The vast majority of the nearby buildings are government or courthouses jails etc. So its unlikely CNN would be allowed to access or set up a camera position in those locations. let me know if you agree. The top level of the small hotel seems to be penthouse and then another level above that.

It had very little value in general for an entire show to be presented there imo. When Jim Sciutto was out streetside, the backdrop looks like any street to an audience unfamiliar with NYC and all his guests were via video link anyway (a lot in DC where he's usually based anyway!). Now that he's back in DC and they've stopped sending him out there he's had guests in the studio at times.

I know that US cable news isn't known for subtlety, but CNN really hasn't held back with these graphics!

Even if you are familiar with NYC it doesn’t look like anything.

Slightly updated layout, but rather unusual that the 'normal' programme of hosts and guests is all taking place in a small box top right.

Feels very CNN-IBN with all the screaming text and redundancy going on.
