Where does this leave impartiality should there be complaints about the council's gritting this winter, can Peter really pull a "not good enough, is it" interview having endorsed this?

He's a professional. If anything, I think he'd probably hold them to a higher standard because of the naming.

It’s hardly an endorsement, and I don’t see how it could significantly impact on any reporting.

It’s just a bit of silly, good-natured fun which isn’t meant to be taken seriously. And I don’t know about everyone else, but right now I’m happy to enjoy a bit of nonsense in this rather bleak world.

There are other concerns too though. What about if a viewer complains that Peter Levy is a right council gritter. The BBC will not be able to defend the allegations as they will be substantially true.

Have they even considered the implications of that vehicle being repurposed as a muck spreader in the future?

That’s the banter between Peter and Paul sorted for the next week anyway which being honest is probably what most of the viewers tune in for to begin with!

Apparently Chris Moyles was watching the other week!

The BBC testcard appeared on Politics North this week, but only as a joke as Tim apologised for last weeks programme not being broadcast.

I noticed there was a new face on the GMB bulletins yesterday morning. It turns out it wasn’t planned though…

I’m guessing the bulletins must have been pan-regional given the generic background.

There was no Look North from Leeds due to “technical problems”, so all of Yorkshire got Peter Levy from Hull instead

It was mostly stories from the Hull patch besides a story about Transpennine Express which of course covers both areas. Paul also had a full forecast for everyone.

Is it me or has the failure rate of BBC regional news programmes gone up quite considerably post pandemic? It was practically unheard of in any circumstance not to broadcast until 2020.

Maybe they had a power failure in Leeds as it’s using old infrastructure to power new kit.

What do you mean? What infrastructure?
