BBC/ITV Yorkshire and Lincolnshire News

It’s a matter of opinion. I’ve lived in Granadaland for over 20 years but still have fond memories of watching these two in my teens in Yorkshire.

It’s a regional magazine and whilst yes, it was close to the bone, I’m sure more people found it amusing than those that didn’t.

Above all, it’s completely natural and has never seemed forced. Of course, that counts for a lot.

Keeley laughed it off on the lunchtime EY&L bulletin.

Looking at the BBC EY & L Facebook post featuring the clip, I’m struggling to see a single negative comment amongst the hundreds posted, which for something posted by the BBC is quite a rarity.

It's a local news bulletin, not reporting on scene in Gaza. It doesn't need to be deadly serious, it should be light-hearted and enjoyable for the audience when not discussing serious stories.

The clip made it onto the BBC One Facebook page as well. As far as I can see, the vast majority took it in good humour.

It reminds me slightly of the time many years ago with Look East at the start of the weather bulletin there was a photo of some Blue Tits on the screen and Stewart White cheekily said "Nice tits Julie", on the pretence of commenting on the photo. A few months (or possibly a year) later when a similar photo was shown at the start of the weather Stewart said "I'm saying nothing", which I seem to recall resulted in similar giggles in the studio due to his remark eluding to the previous events (and probably being told not to say that in future).

I think it's the sort of tongue-in-cheek humour which regional news bulletins just about manage to get away with. In a similar vein there's often light exchanges on Breakfast between the weather presenter, though it usually depends on the nature/seriousness of the next item.

Formerly 'Charlie Wells' of TV Forum.

S'alright by me, seems like it's just part of their camaraderie anyway so while not professional it is human and that's Look Levy for you.

Breakfast had that classic on Christmas I am sure it was when Bill commented on Carols jugs. The one which gets me is from East Midlands today when after a report on Movember, Anne says she wish she hadn’t shaved her moustache off after which Dominic throws to the weather with the classic line “the weather now, here’s an unshaven Sara”
